New website!

Happy New Year everyone! I trust that you are enjoying your holidays and are feeling refreshed and energetic for the new year.

My new website is finally up and running. Check it out at www.rebecca-olsen.com and tell me what you think!

If you’re receiving this update via e-mail and want to keep receiving them, you’ll need to visit the new site and re-subscribe. You can choose between e-mail and RSS subscriptions (yes, I’ve finally decided to join the 21st century!). This old blog will be deleted very soon, so please update any bookmarks that you may have stored on your browser.

See you all on the new site!!!

Merry Christmas!

Well it’s that time of year again! A warm “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!” to all of my wonderful blog readers out there. My website and blog will be offline for a few weeks (hopefully less!) over the Christmas and New Year period whilst I make some changes and upgrade things. I’ve got a whole new website planned for 2009 that I’m sure you’ll love with tons of information, reader comments, and of course lots and lots of portraits!

Thank you all for making 2008 a great year and I hope to see you all again in 2009. I’ll leave you with one of my favourite images for this year. Enjoy!

Fun Family Session

I had the pleasure of photographing this family on the banks of the Nepean river. We had a fantastic time, and the kids were so well behaved! Here’s a sneak peak at a few of the portraits we captured together.

Meet Bill, Karen and Sam!

Meet Bill, Karen and Sam — one of the most fun families I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. We had such an enjoyable morning roaming around Glenbrook finding some FABULOUS locations, laughing all the way. Thanks guys for making my day. I’m sure you’ll agree that together we created some great portraits for your wall. Here’s a quick sample.

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep

I have recently taken the reigns as National Coordinator of a wonderful charity organisation called “Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep” (NILMDTS). NILMDTS is an international organisation which originated in the USA and is dedicated to providing free professional photography to families of terminally ill or stillborn babies.

The need is great, but the number of volunteers is few.

For photographers reading this blog, I urge you to carefully consider if you are willing to become involved. If you are, please visit the website http://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/pageDisplay.php?page=65 and submit your application online.

If you are not a photographer, but have other skills that you wish to donate, please contact me.

Let’s make a difference.
